Jennifer Currence is a Senior Partner of HR Soul Consulting, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, where she delivers talent, culture, and strategy results through customized training and coaching programs for leaders. She is the content creator for the Society for Human Resource Management’s People Manager Qualification (PMQ), was named Tampa Bay’s Consultant of the Year in 2017, and was listed as one of the nation’s top 100 Influential HR professionals in Leadership and Development in September 2023.
Jennifer served as a professor of management at the University of Tampa’s college of business for 11 years. Jennifer has been published in several industry magazines and is the author of three books on behavioral business competencies in HR.

Her extensive cross-functional expertise includes Fortune 500 experience, where she developed and implemented transformational initiatives. She brings strategic and operational leadership acumen in change management, organizational and human development, communications, education, training, instructional design, finance, taxation, human resources, payroll, supply chain, and information technology.
Dr. Maklary’s transformation experience spans pharmaceutical, medical devices, consumer goods, real estate development, commercial construction, and energy sectors. She has managed portfolios exceeding $6 billion, has led programs that impacted over 65,000 employees, and has overseen teams of more than 450 individuals. Her global experience and extensive travel have given her culturally diverse perspectives and the ability to develop innovative, strategic approaches. She recently transitioned from a successful 17-year career as a global leader at Johnson & Johnson to fully dedicate herself to The Huddle Pros—a consulting firm committed to helping companies navigate change, unlock potential, and achieve lasting success.
Having lived in Switzerland, France, and the Bahamas, she gained a deeper understanding of cultural nuances and adaptability. Her expertise in change management, leadership, human behavior, supply chain, business, education, technology, and project management enables her to collaborate effectively with individuals and develop high-performance teams to facilitate change adoption and achieve organizational goals.
As part of her Human Resource Development & Educational Leadership doctorate, she completed a dissertation on organizational decision-making theory and the socio-cultural impacts of transformational change initiatives. This research highlighted how humanistic leadership fosters positive organizational change while its absence impedes progress.
